A new concept for Krauss-Maffei's injection moulding compounder will be combined with a new material from Elastogran to make an automotive suspension component with a moulded-in vibration damping bush. The IMC will be kitted out with a second injection unit, which in effect acts as the primary unit in that it makes the part into which the bush is moulded.
The component is moulded in BASF's Ultramid CR 35 per cent glass filled nylon 66 and consists of a housing with a collar to carry a rod. The collar is isolated from the housing by the anti-vibration bush. This is moulded in Elastogran's new Elastollan cross-linked TPU.
